Price and license

What do I get for free?

Bionic reading on any page you can read, at a fixed strength. Skimora also counts your deep-reading minutes for free, shows today's total in the popup, and makes a shareable session card. No account is needed.

What does the $19 lifetime license unlock?

Adjustable bold strength and colour, Autopace, Cadence, GlideMark with a shared speed dial, Reading Area, Focus Mode, reading fonts, focus sound, the PDF and EPUB reader with bolded EPUB export, highlights, the Library, recent reads, storage tools and your past-year reading history.

Is $19 a subscription?

No. It is one payment for a lifetime license. There is nothing to renew.

Will the price go up?

Yes. You pay the price shown at checkout, which starts at $19 and rises as launch spots sell. Whatever you pay, the license is yours for life, with nothing more to pay later.

How do I activate my license?

Your key appears right after checkout and arrives by email from Dodo Payments. In Chrome, click the Skimora icon, choose Unlock with license, paste the key and press Activate. Skimora checks it, then remembers it on your device.

How many devices can I use it on?

Up to 3 at a time. Uninstalling and reinstalling Skimora counts as a new device, and uninstalling deletes the reading records, heatmap and highlights Skimora kept on that device forever. Activating the key on a 4th device, after you confirm, signs the other three out of Skimora Lifetime. You can do that once every 24 hours.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Ask within 14 days of buying and you get back the full amount you paid. You don't have to say why. The refund policy explains how to ask.

Where it works

Does Skimora work on every website?

It works on most pages you can read, including articles, documentation, GitHub, Jira, Notion and Slack. It doesn't run on Chrome's own pages, the Chrome Web Store or Chrome's built-in PDF viewer, and it leaves text fields and editable pages alone.

Can I read PDFs and EPUBs?

Yes. Open a file in the Skimora reader and it gets the same bolding and pacers. It reads the text inside a PDF, so scanned PDFs that are only images of pages won't work. You can export a bolded EPUB, but not a bolded PDF.

Which browsers does it support?

Skimora is built for Google Chrome, version 147 or later.

Privacy

What data does Skimora collect?

None. There is no account, no analytics and no telemetry. Your settings, highlights, notes and reading stats stay in your browser. The one request Skimora makes carries only your license key, to check it is valid.

Can Skimora see what I read?

Only on the one tab you press Start Reading on, and only inside your browser. It has no always-on access to your sites, and it never sends page content anywhere.

How it works

Does bionic reading make me read faster?

Skimora does not promise that, and the research on bionic reading is mixed. Some readers find bold word starts easier to follow and others do not. It is free, so try it on a page you need to read and keep it if it helps.

What is the difference between Autopace, Cadence and GlideMark?

Autopace shows one word at a time in the middle of the screen. Cadence leaves the page as it is and highlights a few words at a time. GlideMark draws one smooth band that grows as you read. They share one speed dial.

Does Skimora read text aloud?

No. It guides your eyes instead. Focus sound plays background noise, but it does not speak the page.

What does "deep reading time" count?

Only unbroken, attentive reading: the tab is visible and focused and you are active. Skimora has no reading-speed score.

Still deciding?

Bionic reading is free. Try it, then decide about the rest.
