Review the diff, the docs and the ticket without running out of attention.

AI tools write more code than any team can actually read. Skimora bolds code the same way it bolds prose, follows GitHub, Jira, Notion and Slack to where the reading actually is, and never touches a live editor.

Where it gets hard

More to review than one person can read

AI tools generate far more code than a team can actually review. The backlog now is as much docs and description as it is diff.

The diff and the prose blend together

A pull request is a description, a diff, and a comment thread. Skim one and you usually end up skimming all three.

Constant surface-switching

A README, an RFC, a Jira ticket, a Slack thread, then back to the PR. Different apps, the same job: reading dense text, over and over.

Attention that's already spent

By the afternoon, staying with dense technical prose gets harder, not easier — on any of those surfaces, and especially if you have ADHD.

What helps

Bionic reading works on code, not just prose

Code blocks are bolded on purpose, the same as any paragraph — it's built for exactly this. It never touches a live editor like CodeMirror or Monaco, so it can't get in the way of actually writing code, and it keeps up as more of a long thread loads while you scroll.

GitHub, Jira, Notion and Slack, directly

These four get their own handling: the pacers read the PR or ticket body and its comments, not the app's own chrome. They're scoped away from the diff table itself, because pacing word-by-word through code isn't the same job as pacing through a paragraph.

Focus Mode

Hides everything except what you’re reading. Useful for a long RFC, or a PR description buried in a busy layout.

Deep Reading Time

A real number for how much of the day actually went to reading, not just how many tabs were open.

The PDF and EPUB reader

For the spec or whitepaper linked from the ticket, with the same bolding and pacers as everything else.

Questions

Does Skimora bold or pace through the actual code diff?

Bolding does — it covers the whole page, diff included, the same as it covers a paragraph. The pacers (Autopace, Cadence, GlideMark) don't: on GitHub they're scoped to the PR or issue body and its comments, not the diff table, because pacing word-by-word through code isn't the same job as pacing through a paragraph.

Does it work on GitHub, Jira, Notion and Slack?

Yes, all four have their own handling so the pacers find the actual reading — the README, the ticket, the doc, the messages — rather than the app’s navigation.

Will it ever interfere with editing code?

No. Skimora never touches a live code editor (CodeMirror, Monaco, ace and similar are explicitly excluded), so it can't rewrite text you're actively editing or cause it to desync.

Does Skimora treat or diagnose ADHD?

No. Skimora is a reading tool. It does not diagnose, treat or cure ADHD or any other condition, here or anywhere else on this site.
